PT Swayasa Prakarsa Successfully Concludes National Roadshow on VP Shunt Surgical Techniques

PT Swayasa Prakarsa, a domestic medical device manufacturer behind the locally developed INASHUNT, has successfully completed its national roadshow titled “Dry Workshop Techniques and Surgical Application of Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) Shunt.” The initiative was organized by PT Phapros Tbk as the official distributor and successfully reached eight leading medical universities and neurosurgical centers across Indonesia: Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad), Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), Universitas Udayana, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), Universitas Airlangga (Unair), and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

The primary objective of this workshop series was to strengthen understanding of intraoperative VP Shunt implantation techniques using domestically produced medical devices. The closing event of the roadshow was successfully held at the Tahir Building, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), where PT Swayasa Prakarsa presented the downstreaming journey of this innovative product, including its development process and its impact in supporting thousands of patients since 2016.

Throughout its implementation, the roadshow received an overwhelmingly positive response from the medical community. One notable session took place at Universitas Diponegoro in collaboration with RSUP Kariadi (May 1, 2025), attended by seven consultants, 20 residents, five fellowship doctors, and two international medical trainees from Japan. A similar level of engagement was recorded at Universitas Hasanuddin in partnership with RSUP Wahidin Makassar (May 7, 2025), involving seven consultants and 29 residents.

Strong enthusiasm was also evident during the workshop held at the Neurosurgery Skill Laboratory of RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Denpasar in collaboration with Universitas Udayana (July 20, 2025). The event was attended by prominent neurosurgery professors, including Prof. Dr. dr. Sri Maliawan, Sp.BS and Prof. Dr. dr. Tjokorda, Sp.BS. Participants also included neurosurgeons from various regional hospitals across Bali (Badung, Bali Mandara, and Klungkung), 30 residents, four operating room nurses, and one fellowship participant from Malaysia.

The strong participation across these medical education centers highlights the robust collaborative commitment between PT Swayasa Prakarsa and PT Phapros. As a manufacturer, PT Swayasa Prakarsa goes beyond producing medical devices by actively supporting clinical education for healthcare professionals. Through close collaboration with inventors and PT Phapros, this initiative is expected to further strengthen trust in locally developed products while accelerating the advancement and independence of Indonesia’s medical technology innovation.
